Classes of Rhythmic Movement Training and Reflex Integration

In the training curriculum to become a Rhythmic Movement Training instructor there are 3 levels.

1.  Basic level: Rhythmic movement training and primitive reflexes

In this 2-day course participants learn the basics of the rhythmic movement training: how rhythmic exercises can be utilized to regulate muscle tone, stimulate the brain in order to improve attention and control of impulses and to diminish hyperactivity. The course also includes a survey of the most important primitive reflexes in ADHD and how to integrate them with rhythmic exercises.

No previous knowledge required

2.  Level 2: Rhythmic movements, reflexes and emotions

This 2-day course addresses how rhythmic movement training affects our emotions, how to work with movements to get in touch with our emotions and to stabilize them when they threaten to take command. The course also deals with reflexes that especially affect our emotions, a.o. the Fear Paralysis and the Moro reflex. It is a necessary supplement for anyone who wishes to work with rhythmic movement training.

Previous knowledge required: Basic level

3.  Level 3: Dyslexia, vision and reflexes

This 2-day course deals with how our reading and writing ability is affected by various factors such as our vision, our ability to recognize the sounds of the language and our motor ability. We learn how to test non integrated primitive reflexes and recognize other motor disabilities that are important for dyslexia and how to improve reading and writing ability by correcting these problems with rhythmic exercises and reflex integration exercises.

Special importance is attached to vision and learning how to recognize visual problems and improve vision by various exercises.

Previous knowledge required: Basic level
Also recommended: Level 2

Special classes taught by Dr. Harald Blomberg

Rhythmic Movements and Diet in autism and ASD
This 2-day course deals with the great importance of diet and food supplements when working with rhythmic movements, not only in autism. In ADHD, dyslexia and motor problems food intolerance is becoming more and more common and may interfere with the training. This course teaches how to test for food intolerance and also for food supplements the child may need. The course also deals with primitive reflexes which are especially common in autism and how to conduct the training with children suffering from autism and ASD.
No previous knowledge required.
Recommended is experience of muscle testing.

Rhythmic Movement training in Kindergarten
This 2-day course teaches the basics of Rhythmic Movement training in a similar way as the level 1 course. The course teaches how to use the basic rhythmic exercises with preschool children and how to recognize and test for many primitive reflexes that affect the motor, emotional and mental development of the preschool child. Rhythmic movements and games especially adapted to integrate reflexes in preschool children are also taught.
No previous knowledge required.

Rhythmic Movement Training for massage therapists, chiropractors and physiotherapists
This 2-day course is appropriate to professionals who work with muscle and joint pain and to persons who want work with their own challenges. The course teaches how to test for primitive reflexes that may cause a rotated pelvis or muscle tensions, pain and osteoarthritis in the neck, shoulders, back and hips. The participants will learn how to use simple rhythmic exercises and reflex integrations exercises to achieve a more lasting improvement.
No previous knowledge required.

Rhythmic Movement Training and Dreams
This 2-day course will give the participants tools to work with the sometimes scary dreams that may be caused by rhythmic movement training. The symbols of such dreams are often similar to symbols of myths and folk tales and in the course Dr. Blomberg discusses the meaning of these symbols for healing and integration, and how we can use this information when working with our clients.

Participants are encouraged to do the movements for a period and keep a dream diary to bring to the course.

Pre-requisite: RMT Level One and Two.
