DO AS ERICSSON AND TELIA ARE DOING, THROW OUT YOUR CORDLESS PHONE! |

A cordless DECT-telephone radiates in the same way as a mobile telephone mast A DECT telephone is essentially the only type of cordless telephone that is any longer for sale. It has a charger that radiates continuously when connected to the electricity, i.e. even when not being used. The strength of the radiation close to the charger is comparable to having several mobile masts in the vicinity. And the radiation level during a phone call is ten times higher than when you make a call with a GSM-telephone
In a block
of flats the radiation spreads out to a distance of around 100 metres. This
means that you are even exposed to radiation from your neighbourīs cordless
telephones 24 hours a day.
When DECT-telephones
are used as internal phones by businesses several
On the
other hand, it is still profitable for Telia to sell DECT-telephones as the
cost for public health damage can be passed on to the Government. Mobile telephones, cordless telephones and cordless broadband etc. all generate microwave radiation. If the dose is too high we are cooked, as we would be in a microwave oven. In order to avoid this the authorities have set fixed limits to how much radiation we should be exposed to. However, an increasing number of scientific studies are showing that microwave radiation at a level much lower than the authorized limit is a health risk.
According
to the EUīs large evaluation of risk project the the DNA in human cells
shows damage already at one seventh of the radiation limit. Damage to DNA
results in cancer and damage to the fetus. - Several studies have shown that the occurance of insomnia, tiredness, headache, dizziness, concentration difficulties and cancer increases with proximity to a mobile mast - People who were sensitive to ordinary mobile phone radiation reacted with dizziness, nausea, nervousness, chest pains, breathing difficulties, numbness, and feelings of weakness already after 15-20 minutes exposure to 3-G radiation. The radiation level was 3770 times under the existing limit.
- Two
Swedish studies showed a 3.5 to 4 times greater risk of tumours in the
auditary 2. - A Swedish study shows a doubling of the risk for cancer for those who talk into their mobile or cordless phone for more than one hour per day.
- Half of
approximately 200 investigations into mobile phone radiation show negative
health effects.
Health-damaging microwave radiation or electric smog which reaches us all is
increasing daily. Expansion of 3-G alone is going to increase the total
amount of radiation several times over. Added to that we have radiation from
cordless broadband which is also under expansion and from the signal system
Tetra which is being purchased for police cars, ambulances, rescue services
and busses. Many home appliances, for example cordless phones and computers
with cordless components, give off health-damaging radiation, Swedish authorities refuse to admit there are any risks with microwave radiation at a level under the current limit despite all the research that shows the opposite. You must, therefore, take responsibility for yourself and your children and cut down your exposure to health-damaging radiation.

What should you do? |
|
Even if you get a low score you should exchange your cordless phone for an ordinary one. Firstly, the radiation from your phone is harmful to your neighbours and your family and, secondly, you run a greater risk of developing tumours through its use even if you donīt have any other symptoms. If your score is lower but still higher than 40 after you have got rid of your cordless telephone you need to check for other possible sources of radiation in your close environment.
Avoid
speaking on mobile phones as much as possible, avoid sending SMSīs and
switch off your mobile phone when it isnīt in use.
